During the month of August we spotlighted clients about their journey to become gender-transformative leaders. Here is why. 


Staff in a diverse and gender-inclusive workplace are happier, more productive, and bring their skills and talents to boost overall performance. Companies with a diverse workforce are more innovative and adaptive to change, and they are twice more likely to exceed their financial targets. Thus, gender diversity and inclusion make business sense.


It is for these reasons that KORUMO partnered with Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH. We support GIZ staff and partners as change makers to become the change they want to see. As gender-transformative leaders they are driving interventions that actively question established norms and stereotypes and dismantle existing structural inequalities in value chains from production and training to manufacturing and marketing. 


Like the caterpillar that turns into a butterfly, transformation is the shifting from one state into another fundamentally different state, the change is irreversible. Gender-transformative change means that individuals and groups are no longer held back on the basis of gender and other markers of difference, and that they can develop their full potential and thrive.
